BIO
Microsoft Data Platform MVP and proud #datalover.
I’m that person who gets genuinely excited about a well-designed Lakehouse at 9am on a Monday, and yes, I’ve made peace with that.
My technical home is Microsoft Fabric, end-to-end data solutions, Medallion architecture, data engineering with PySpark and Python, semantic modeling with TMDL, real-time intelligence, and governance. Power BI lives inside Fabric, and that’s exactly how I treat it. Currently riding the Agentic Era wave with MCP and AI agents, because who can resist a good technical challenge?
Community is where I come alive. I co-organize Women in Fabric, because women belong on every stage, every whiteboard, and every data team, and the Fabric User Group ESP. I also co-created calendarioeventosdatos.com, a free community map of data events. I speak internationally and write at monicamesa.es.
My superpower? Making even the most technical model feel approachable, useful, and fun.
When I’m not knee-deep in data models and wild ideas, you’ll find me planning the next trip, chasing sunrises on a run, or eating an irresponsible number of croquetas. I also have a weakness for costumes, if there’s an excuse to dress up, I’m first in line.
And yes, I tell bad jokes. Someone has to break the ice.
Data doesn’t just make us work better, it changes how we understand the world. And I’m here for all of it. 🚀
