ABOUT THE SESSION

Already fluent in T-SQL, SSIS, and stored procedures? Microsoft Fabric isn’t asking you to start over – it’s asking you to show up.

In this session, we’ll map your existing SQL Server skills directly to Fabric equivalents: SSIS packages get a second life when integrated with Fabric, database projects and stored procedures find a home in Fabric Data Warehouse and Fabric SQL, and yes – nearly everything in Fabric has a SQL endpoint so you can keep writing the SQL you already know.

We’ll also demystify newer concepts like mirroring – a familiar term that means something very different in Fabric than it did in traditional SQL Server.

And we’ll be honest about the gaps: not all T-SQL works at every endpoint, Data Factory pipelines are familiar but not identical to Azure Data Factory, and some scenarios will push you toward KQL or Python.

Leave with a clear map of what transfers, what adapts, and what’s genuinely new – so you can hit the ground running in Fabric without feeling like a beginner.
