Database incidents rarely happen at convenient times. In this session, we’ll show how DB Agent changes the experience of responding to a production database issue, turning a cold, groggy 2AM investigation into a guided, decision-focused workflow.

We’ll start with a service-impacting database problem and walk through the traditional response: getting paged, opening dashboards, inspecting queries, correlating signals, and trying to piece together what happened while half-asleep. Then we’ll shift to the DB Agent experience in VS Code, where the investigation has already been assembled by the time the engineer sits down: likely cause, supporting evidence, affected queries, recommended mitigation, and follow-up actions.

The demo will show the full incident lifecycle: taking immediate action to restore service, creating a ticket to address longer-term infrastructure changes in the Bicep template, and capturing code-level query improvements for daylight-hours follow-up.

What could have been hours becomes minutes, and the engineer gets to go back to bed.
