In this full-day, demo-driven workshop, two Microsoft MVPs will walk you through everything a SharePoint administrator needs to know to operate effectively in the AI era. We start where every AI journey should begin: getting your content ready. Using SharePoint Advanced Management, we will demonstrate site lifecycle policies, Restricted Content Discovery, oversharing reports, data access governance, and more. This is the foundation that determines whether AI helps your organization or creates new problems.

Next, we explore how AI is enhancing both the content and platform layers of SharePoint. On the content side, we’ll review features like autofill columns, automated tagging, and taxonomy tagging that not only improve the precision of Copilot responses but also introduce new governance considerations that administrators must manage. On the platform side, we’ll shift focus to the emerging experiences within AI in SharePoint, including natural language-driven site and page creation, the use of custom skills to enforce guardrails during AI execution, and the operational management of SharePoint agents including insights, permissions, and how to use the SharePoint Admin Agent across your tenant.

Finally, we look beyond SharePoint at how tools like Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 Copilot Control System impact your responsibilities as a SharePoint administrator, because in the AI era, your admin boundaries do not stop at the SharePoint admin center.

Assumed Knowledge:

You should have working experience administering SharePoint Online, including managing sites, permissions, and basic tenant settings through the SharePoint admin center. Familiarity with concepts like site collections, sharing policies, and Microsoft 365 Groups is expected. You do not need prior experience with AI features, Copilot, or SharePoint Advanced Management.

This workshop focuses on the admin and governance perspective, not end-user adoption or change management strategies.
