Why speak at FabCon & SQLCon Europe?

Speaking at FabCon + SQLCon Europe is an opportunity to share what you know with a community of 5,000+ Microsoft data professionals, including data engineers, DBAs, developers, architects, analytics specialists and IT leaders. You’ll have the opportunity to build your profile as a subject-matter expert and connect with fellow speakers, Microsoft product teams, MVPs and community members. Eligible community speakers receive conference access, networking opportunities and speaker benefits, including compensation and accommodation.

Who should apply?

We want to hear from people with useful knowledge, experience and ideas to share, including Microsoft Fabric and SQL experts, data engineers, DBAs, developers, architects, analytics professionals, community leaders and business leaders. You don’t need to work for Microsoft or be a Microsoft MVP to submit a session. What matters most is having something valuable to share with our audience and a clear idea of what attendees will learn from your session. Whether you’re experienced in speaking at conferences or considering your first session, we welcome your proposal.

Topics we are looking for

We’re looking for useful, engaging sessions covering Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, Azure SQL, data engineering, analytics, lakehouse architecture, governance, FabricIQ, Agentic AI and the wider Microsoft data platform. We particularly value real-world case studies, technical deep dives and sessions that give attendees practical ideas they can take back to their organisations. Sessions should be educational rather than sales or product pitches.

How are proposals selected?

All applicants will be contacted once the review process is complete and informed whether their proposal has been selected. Proposals are considered based on a number of criteria, including relevance to the Microsoft Fabric and SQL audience, clarity, practical value, originality and balance across the overall programme. We recommend making it clear who your session is for, what attendees will learn and what they’ll be able to do differently afterwards.

I adore coming to this conference, not only because of the great content, amazing sessions and the chance to meet up with all of my friends and acquaintances but also because it is one of the best organised events that I attend throughout the year with excellent attention to detail and communication prior, during and after the event.

Speaking at FabCon Europe was a genuine pleasure. The organisation was amazing, and the CCIB gave the event room to breathe – proper space between sessions, which is where a lot of the real value happens. The content was the strongest part: Fabric and SQL sessions that reflected where the platform actually is right now, not where it was a year ago. The audience also brought sharp questions, which is the best thing a speaker can ask for. A conference that takes both its content and its community seriously.

FabCon Europe always creates some amazing moments of connection between people. It can be in a session but it can also be in the hallway or during lunch. Having so many likeminded people in the same place makes in almost inevitable that one learns something new or at least get to know someone new.

Submitting Your Speaker Proposal

Speaker proposals are submitted through Sessionize. Make sure your proposal is clear, specific and relevant to the Microsoft Fabric and SQL audience.

A strong speaker proposal clearly explains what your session is about, who it’s for and what attendees will get from it. Be specific about the problem, experience or idea you want to share and the practical value for the audience. Your title and description should be engaging, but they should also accurately reflect the content of your session. Real-world Microsoft Fabric and SQL projects, technical examples and clear takeaways can help the Programme Team understand the value your session would bring to the conference audience.

Yes, you can submit more than one speaker proposal. Each proposed session should be submitted separately with all the required information.

Session Requirements

Conference sessions are 60 minutes, including time for questions and answers, demonstrations and any other elements of your presentation. Please plan your session so everything fits comfortably within the allocated time. Sessions run throughout the conference programme, and the next speaker needs time to prepare and complete any necessary AV checks, so it’s important that your session finishes on time.

No. FabCon + SQLCon Europe conference sessions should be educational rather than promotional. Attendees are there to learn, discover new ideas and gain practical knowledge, so sales pitches and sessions focused on promoting a company, product or service are not accepted. If your organisation is interested in showcasing its products or services to the Microsoft Fabric and SQL communities, please explore our sponsorship opportunities instead.

Yes, speakers should bring their own laptop to deliver their session. We’ll provide detailed information about presentation equipment, connections and technical requirements ahead of the conference, as these can vary depending on the venue.
