From Chat to Canvas: Hosting Interactive MCP Apps on Azure

Building and deploying MCP servers with interactive UI on Azure Container Apps

Chat is a great interface — until your user needs to fill in a form, approve a request, or explore a dashboard. MCP Apps change that, letting a server return a live, interactive UI instead of another wall of text.

This session is about the Azure side of that story. We’ll containerise an MCP server and deploy it to Azure Container Apps, wire up Microsoft Entra authentication, and work through the configuration that trips everyone up — CORS, widget host URLs, ingress and scaling trade-offs. We’ll then put Azure API Management in front of it for governance and rate limiting.

The payoff is a live demo: a user asks a question, the server decides which UI to return, and the user acts on it directly — with the model responding to what they did.

You’ll leave with a reference architecture, a working repo, and a clear-eyed view of what’s production-ready today.
