If you’ve spent any time building agents in M365 Copilot, you’ll noticed many terms being mentioned that all sound like they allow you to work with your data. From a distance some sound very similar. We’re here to tell you they are not!

We will cover the different components and terms of an agent when it comes to working with data:

– Knowledge (also referred to as “RAG”)

– Skills

– Tools and Plugins

– MCP servers

– Agent2Agent

Join us as we go over each in detail, how to use it, why you should use it, and crucially when you should use it over something else.

This session is aimed at people familiar with the concept of building an agent, but need guidance on the sheer amount of options available.

Assumed Knowledge:

You should have tried to build an agent for M365 Copilot. Whether that be in Copilot Studio or using Agents Toolkit.

Practical Takeaways:

Make a key distinction between all the methods you can use to interact with data inside an agent. Not all are the same and we will try to highlight that.

Out of Session Scope:

We won’t cover using every option in every scenario with demos or code. For example we might discuss Agent2Agent in Agents Toolkit but we won’t then discuss how to configure it in Copilot Studio. The session is also not to explain what an Agent is, why you should want to build one etc.
