ABOUT THE SESSION
Let’s be honest: MCP servers are everywhere right now. Every conference, every blog post, every demo. And if you’re working with low-code, it’s easy to assume this is “developer territory” and move on.
This session pushes back on that.
Sara is a Solution Architect working mainly with low-code and Power Platform while Mats is a pro coder building what everyone else depends on. Together, we’ll try to make sense of MCP from both sides: what it actually is, what’s just hype, and where it becomes genuinely useful.
We’ll break down MCP in plain language, without assuming a developer background. More importantly, we’ll show how it can be used in practice together with Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform to extend Copilot, connect to external tools, and unlock scenarios that usually require custom code.
This isn’t a deep dive for developers. It’s not a marketing pitch either. It’s a practical session from two perspectives, focused on closing the gap between makers and developers and showing where MCP actually makes a difference.
Assumed Knowledge:
A general understanding of Microsoft 365, Copilot or the Power Platform is expected, along with some hands-on experience building or configuring solutions. No prior knowledge of MCP or pro-code development is required.
Practical Takeaways:
-Understand MCP without a developer background Know when MCP is useful, and when it isn’t
-See practical examples with Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform
-Understand how makers and developers can collaborate around MCP Leave with concrete ideas for where to start
Out of Session Scope:
We will not go into deep technical implementation of MCP servers or low-level protocol details. This is not a pro-developer deep dive, and we won’t cover enterprise governance, rollout strategies, or general AI trends. The focus is practical usage in a low-code context.
